Repairing the Van

I've dragged my van across the states and it's always run like a champ. However it finally decided to cough up and die on me during the slow winter.

I did some basic tests a mechanic instructed me to do and decided to buy a fuel pump. I ordered one off Rock Auto and paid just half the price of Checker or Auto Zone, even after paying for 2 day shipping.

It arrived today. Unfortunately, replacing it means removing the fuel tank.

So I tediously removed all the gas and got to work removing the connections. With the help of a skilled mechanic I removed all the hoses and dropped the damn tank out. Once out we easily replaced the pump inside.

Getting ready to reconect the tank

Tomorrow I do some more scheduled maintenance so its completely ready for the road and unfortunately, storage.
