Half an hour out of town, and I arrive at the dairy. Goats in every direction, over 100. While its not huge for a commercial operation, for the small family that runs this dairy its a full time job.

The season change
I stepped outside this morning and cringed as the wind bit into my chest. I noticed everything frosted in a ghostly white. With our first days in November warmer than 70 degrees, I somehow thought I evaded winter in Arkansas, this morning sure set me straight.I've had a challenge getting reliable computer access. Please check back over Thanksgiving holiday.
In the mean time allow me to entertain you with a few great quotes-

"Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe." ~Anatole France
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain
Always Running...
Always Running- La Vida Loca: Gang Days in LA ****
This is an autobiographical tale of Luis Rodriguez, a Mexican immigrant growing up in various ghettos of LA. While the writer focuses on his involvement in various gangs, the book has an underlying theme even more troubling.
As his struggling family is slammed by one misfortune after another, it becomes clear that opportunity is not equal in America. Through Rodriguez’ portrayal of his families struggle as poor immigrants we see the devastation created by the nation’s unequal stratification of wealth and the class struggle still plaguing the nation.

Keep in mind, this is the number below the poverty level
The book pulls right at your heart strings. It brings memories of my own childhood. I remember my families struggle after my parents separated. My mother never got on her feet after that. As an uneducated/ unskilled house wife she either worked 2 jobs to support us kids, or we scraped by on state assistance. Though she worked like crazy, our system provided her no opportunities to get out of that rut.

Great news- Private organizations are picking up the government's slack
This story clearly illustrates that National policy needs a second look. Now I hate to drop them in, just bare with the politics anyway. As an uninsured American, I can’t wait for Obama to enter the Oval Office so I can visit the emergency room when I need to, or have a doctor check out my bad knee that’s pained me for months. The fact is, Obama has a plan to help struggling Americans enjoy more of the opportunities and conveniences that millions of Americans take for granted.
Though the writing is simple and the timeline hard to follow at times, the subject matter of this book is extremely gripping which makes for an entertaining and quick read.
